Mentoring plays a significant role in the ReBUILDetroit. Scholars have a built-in support network of peers, peers at partnering institutions, graduate students and Faculty at all partnering institutions.
An expected outcome of this unique mentoring alignment is to enhance faculty’s ability to appropriately teach and mentor underrepresented students.
This will be accomplished by Faculty:
- training to provide culturally-responsive mentoring,
- following an inquiry-based pedagogy in teaching the Research Methods course,
- mentoring students at other partnering institutions, and
- collaborating on scholarship and research between partnering institutions.
