ReBUILDetroit scholars continue their Summer Enrichment Program staying in the dorms at the University of Detroit Mercy this weekend.
The fun begins Friday night with a pizza dinner. Social activities are planned throughout the weekend for scholars to build a support network with each other.
“The goal of the weekend experience is for the cohort of scholars to build a sense of community with each other, “ says Pam Todd, director of pre-college programs. “This weekend is the first opportunity for the scholars to develop connectivity between each other from the other schools.”
Activities for the weekend include a trip to the Belle Isle Zoo and Aquarium, lunch on the Riverwalk and fishing at the William G. Milliken State Park in Detroit.
On Sunday, the scholars will give back to the community cleaning up the neighborhood.
