Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) and Marygrove College held welcoming receptions for ReBUILDscholars over the weekend.
WCCCD welcomed 12 scholars and 3 alternates to a reception Friday afternoon at their Northwest campus. Administrators, faculty and staff were on-hand to welcome this first cohort of ReBUILDetroit scholars. Dr. Fidelis D’Cunha, District Provost at the Northwest campus, is excited for this program. “WCCCD is the only community college involved in this program. Our scholars have many opportunities through this consortium,” D’Cunha said.
On Sunday afternoon, a similar reception was held for ReBUILDetroit scholars attending Marygrove College. Scholars were introduced to faculty members and provide information on what to expect throughout the Summer Enrichment Program and through their academic career.
The Summer Enrichment Program at WCCCD, Marygrove College and the University of Detroit Mercy begins July 6.
