Chris Harness, a UDM scholar, is looking forward to the research opportunities that the ReBUILDetroit program offers. Harness, a recent graduate of Sterling Heights High School and Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center (MMSTC), got a taste of research at MMSTC. “I want to work on prosthetics and robotic limbs,” Harness said. “This program offers me an opportunity to do that.

Lisa Harness is pleased that her son chose UDM because of the hands-on opportunities that smaller class sizes have to offer. “We encouraged Chris all along through high school and are excited about the opportunities he has in the ReBUILDetroit Program and at UDM,” Ms. Harness said.

The ReBUILDetroit Summer Enrichment Program is a 4-week session, which provides training on developing academic skills to succeed in college. Scholars from all four campuses undergo similar sessions at their home institution and come together weekly for discussion and collaborative activities.
