Research Project: Personality Pathology in Primary Care and Outpatient Psychiatry Clinics Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of psychology; good interpersonal skills; high levels of conscientiousness and interpersonal maturity Description: My research lab is investigating new and emerging ways in which to assess and diagnose personality disorders and personality pathology. These new models have been proposed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th edition) and are gaining much interest. We have been collecting data from patients and health care providers in both primary care and outpatient psychiatry clinics for some time and are looking at expanding the locations in which we collect this data. Research assistants are needed to help recruit patients, manage the data collection process, enter data into a computerized database, and perform other requested duties. This research will require training in the protection of human subjects, patient recruitment, and data entry/data management. There are both ongoing and upcoming projects.
