Mentoring plays a significant role in the ReBUILDetroit. Scholars have a built-in support network of peers, peers at partnering institutions, graduate students and Faculty at all partnering institutions.
Starting with the Summer Enrichment Program, ReBUILDetroit Scholars from all partner institutions will network once a week. Peer mentoring provides social and emotional support for transiting to college.
Graduate and post-doctoral fellows enrich ReBUILDetroit scholars experiences. Faculty mentoring cultivates academic interests, networks and career development.
Upon completion of the freshman year, scholars are paired with a research mentor. Scholars actively work with their research mentor in the mentor’s research lab.
Progress toward graduation is tracked through proactive academic advising and career coaching tracks, research and graduate work.
